lunaberg

We did a half day horseback ride to Lunaberg with our two kids of 5 and 7. The owner was guide. The ride was up a trail crossing the river a few places. Long enough for children, but if we where alone we would have chosen a longer route. It was nice to get away from busy Cabarete for a while. But the real treat of the trip was the knowledgeable guide. He has lived in the Dominican for 20 something years, many years on the farm of Lunaberg which the family developed and built themselves. He can therefore give an indepth perspective of the surrounding nature, plants and farmland, and its people. The kids loved the ride and the dip in the natural pool of the river.
