It was a beautiful moment in our trip to Matanzas. The view is terrific, and the ground are very nice. It was nice to see a school kids come by to get the information on the history of this beautiful landmark. The statues are beautiful also..

Great views over the city and bay and close enough to walk to. Plenty of places to eat or drink and relax and the Catalonian church adds further interest.

an interesting church originally built in 1871 based on a Catalonian monastery. Nicely restored to original splendor with a bell tower and a nice view. After a modest tip we were permitted to climb the tower and of course ring the bell. Nice views of the city of Matanzas and lush valley.

Great place for post-wedding pictures! Monserrate has a lovely church and a beautiful view of Matanzas and the bay. If you want something different and/or in addition to the beach wedding photos, it's worth the drive to Matanzas.

After a good hike up to the edge of town go into the newly renovated church, Ermita de Monserrate and climb the stairs of the bell tower. Get a good view of Matanzas on one side and the Yumuri Valley on the other and " Ring the bell ".

This beautiful example of colonial architecture sits on one of the highest points in all of Matanzas offering beautiful vistas of both the City of Matanzas and the Yumni Valley. It is especially interesting if you are going on the Hershey Electric Train ride as you experience the valley from both perspectives. This would not be an easy hike, however, it is supposed to be on the itinerary of the Varadero to Matanzas Hop on Hop off bus which will often give you 10-15 minutes to explore, enjoy and get some photos.

es el punto mas alto de la ciudad donde se puede contemplar toda la bahía y el litoral donde se enclava la ciudad, por el otro lado se observa un hermoso valle, la Ermita se ha recuperado últimamente gracias a colaboraciones extranjeras,. Tiene su pega el sitio y es que el 99% de los visitantes no conocen su historia ni los vínculos catalanes con el lugar, le falta historia, necesita contar sus raíces y el por que de este lugar, no debe quedar en un simple sitio de atracción y gastronomía.

Ein Traumblick über das Yumuri-Tal nur wenige Minuten von der Stadtmitte Mantanzas mit dem Auto entfernt. Kirche, Parkplatz und drei Lokale, mehr nicht, aber die Aussicht!!!

A gran altura sobre la Ciudad de Matanzas se erige este mágico escenario donde belleza natural e historia se dan la mano. Es digno de elogio el trabajo de restauración realizada a la ermita y la hermosura de los paisajes que desde la misma se disfrutan. El contraste existente entre el azul cielo y el verde del valle y sus parajes, junto a la ciudad al pie, brindan una escena que recomiendo mucho a quienes visiten la Ciudad de Matanzas. Fueron tomadas muchas fotos dignas de un buen recuerdo.Desde el punto de vista práctico se recomienda una vestimenta y calzado deportivo para disfrutar de la brisa en temporada de verano, llevar cámara fotográfica y en cuanto a la bebida y comestibles existen tres áreas bien diferentes a disfrutar. Al centro se encuentra un Rápido para comidas y bebidas ligeras, a la derecha, muy cerca del parqueo un pequeño ranchito bar donde disfrutar tragos y una hermosa vista. A la izquierda existe un restaurant y a su lado un área de baños bien limpios. El lugar posee un parqueo enorme y dos muros donde sentarse a ambos lados del área, desde allí se pueden disfrutar diferentes vistas y con mucha sombra fresca que proporcionan los árboles.

Endroit avec une superbe vue, c'est un lieu agréable où on peut se poser pour boire ou manger et admirer un joli parc et une vue magnifique sur la nature.

Lá do alto se tem uma bela vista da baia de matanzas.. é muito bonito.. a igreja também é muito bela..

La splendida vista che si gode dall'alto sulla baia di MatanzasLa Chiesa,che dopo tanti anni è stata restaurata,con l'immagine della Vergine del luogoAh!Se avete intenzione di mangiare qualcosa..se puede..però ci vuole un poco di tempo.. il pollo o altro prima o poi arriverà!

Es un lugar maravilloso situado en las alturas de la Ciudad de Matanzas, doinde se puede apreciar todo el verdor y esplendor del Valle de Yumuri. La Ermita fue restaurada con todos los pormenores por un proyecto del Hijo Ilustre de la Ciuada de Matanzas, el Arquitecto Ramon Recondo. Realmente recomiendo este maravilloso lugar.
