Music was wonderful... but as all in Cuba a bit money-makingEntry was 1cuc, drinks (cuba libre or mohito etc) 3 cuc, cd to buy from band 10 cuc.Music is wonderful (very experienced 5 man band) and is best part of it and if you want to enjoy just close your eyes / focus and listen. If you will start to observe around you will see:- only tourists are inside, locals are just by the windows and dancing on the street/observing who can be a next buyer for false cigars ;)- state workers tries to up-sell drinks /band tries to get the most... money from you- there is many couples with are not real... I mean lot's of older foreigner man with young black women... even rastaman from the band try to come close and kiss with much-much-much older foreigner woman and sing song for her... they hug just on the front of your sit and she gets her purse to pay him a drink and give him some cash for other services... you will see all this everywhere that's why if you come for music don't get your eyes from the band ;)little and very cosy placewe done 1 inside and many times outside with locals :)

The usual casa de la trova, different live band every day, free entry, drinks overpriced and horrible.

A small bar where the musicians seem to be singing from early afternoon onwards. I found it very enjoyable -though others weren't too sure how authentic it was !

Great venue for a drink, to enjoy the live music and a dance with the locals! Good mix of Cubans and tourists. The host of the evening makes it hilarious and for me it was definitely the best Casa in Cuba!

We had dinner at El Colonial, Baracoa's oldest parador where my friends had Teri', a local fish-eel speciality. At 9 we went to La Trova.

I visited Cuba for a month and a half. I went through all the provinces, and I can say that this Casa de la Trova is the best!!! The atmosphere was electrifing!!! Amazing authentic experience...With LoveChen

A bar at the pedestrian area, where every night a different band was playing.Strong drinks, cheap, nice local music, many people attended the program and local dancers were dancing with tourists and the place was getting crowded inside and outside as night was progressing.

It weas not busy, when we entered the premises beginning of June.. A mix of tourists and locals listening to a rural band with menbers that gave the impression they just ended their work in the field or on the scaffold Numbers were fanaticaly announced by the man also trying to convince passersby to come in and some numbers a couple of youngsters gave a fine salsa demo. But what intrigued was the chubby lady with the big sunglasses, on the stage absently fidgeting her hair, was she the band's impresario? But then she began to sing and play guitar, acousitc, convincingly making clear that she belonged to the performers, and how!Yeah, we very much enjoyend our visit.

I love the place, the music and the people there. Had lots of fun. They had live music and you can hang out around locals safely

Good performance but mainly tourist inside, locals stay outside so makes the whole experience a bit odd

As nearly ever town and city in Cuba has a Casa De la Trova .A traditional building where locals and tourists met to enjoy music and often dancing .Made very welcome .

The hours will fly whether you are dancing or listening to the traditional music at Baracoa's Casa de Trova. Since I visited Baracoa during late September and early October, when the weather was steamy, the major domo moved the bandstand tables and chairs outside. Incidentally, the major domo, who also acts as an MC, is a real character, almost as entertaining as the performers themselves. The surrounding streets provide a picturesque backdrop--Baracoa's cathedral is opposite. The music is so infectious, and the major domo so insistant that you get up and dance--that many reserved Europeans and Americans soon find themselves gyrating on the cobblestones. I spent two memorable nights there and hope to return someday.

This felt like an authentic Cuban experience. The room is pretty small, with chairs lining the edges, to allow maximum space for dancing. The band was good and the locals are keen to dance with the visitors and everyone is made to feel welcome. The guy that runs it is happy to play waiter all evening, so you don't have to go to the bar if you don't want to get up.The street is packed outside with people enjoying the music and looking in through the windows (there's no glass).

Great music cheerful people and superb artistic dancing. Girls the locals are really helpful in teaching the steps and some even give lessons during the day

Every night a different band. Located on a lovely safe pedestrian walkway. Dance or just listen it's lots of fun
