The place is very big and you'll really see the actual houses of Jose Rizal, though reconstructed, they really tried to preserve whatever there is to save.A lot of good readings are also available in display.They are currently renovating the building where they place Jose Rizal's books.

The environment was great. The place is surrounded by huge trees. If you love nature and history,You must visit this place.

A personal favorite of the Rizalians, the location can be best experienced with a local heritage interpreters or at least included in a Historical tour to make the visit very meaningful.Some are just visiting this location for photo and "selfie" purposes without knowing the significant importance of this location in the formation of the Philippine republic.

It really feels good to be on a place where our national hero once lived. Some how they managed to improve and maintain the place especially the old houses and trees. It feels so fulfilling to be on that place.

Beautiful preservation of national treasure in nature preserved area, but the museum is out o character , too modern , quite ugly building

Find a guide it will really help. Unless you know very well RIzal.Interesting, also because you can see Rizalian volunteers working for Rizal unpaid.

It was nice to see how Jose Rizal lived during his exile... If you are not familiar with this place get a guided tour.

It was my second time at the Rizal Shrine and I'd say it has not been well maintained. Some of the structures are not in good condition anymore. Bring mosquito repellant when you visit the place.

Learned much about our national hero during the visit. I highly recommend that you get a tour guide to better appreciate your visit to the shrine. I travelled with my brother and sister, we paid Php250 for the guided tour.

Rizal Shrine is always beautiful and historic. One problem i see was that, modernization already creeping to the supposed to be ancient and important place of our country history-wise. Kudos to the National and Local government for preserving most of the memorabilia and souvenirs left by the national hero. I hope they should have removed the modern facilities into it. But I think it's one way of preserving the facade and physique of the park.

"corner of the traveler" the history behind the place gives you the sight and knowledge on how Dr. Jose p. Rizal lived his life being a doctor in Dapitan.

Read on history before coming here. Dapitan City very clean and slow paced. Imagine Jose Rizal's exile and how he was able to help the community thru education and health care. There were a few old ladies in white who were actually Rizalistas (cult who believe Rizal is their Christ) in the vicinity. They kept the area clean. Tour takes about 10minutes. No guides. Library building display needs termite and bokbok control. Free entrance. No explanations. Mostly empty.

I do love history so I was happy to go to this place. I was somewhat disappointed in the condition of the place. Not very well kept.

We made made a side trip to Rizal Shrine prior to checking in at Dakak beach resort.Distance is 20 mins from Rizal shrine & Dakak by van.The Shrine is full of historical information about Rizal's life and works in Dapitan.A tour guide would help in discovering Rizal's few years in dapitan exile.Dr jose Rizal's house,clinic,kitchen etc were built exactly where it used to stand.There is also a two story museum that keeps a few of dr j rizal's memorabilia clothes,furnitures,pictures etc.Unfortunately residents from a nearby village would use Rizal's shrine back portion as access way.Hoping something can be done about it to preserve the solemnity of Dapitan shrine.Maximum 1.5 hours is more than enough to tour the whole shrine.

We stopped briefly on our way to the airport.The reconstructed exhibits are good, but the semi forest setting makes the Rizal house look gloomy. A 'guide' approached us and showed us around, although one could have guided oneself.There is a more modern double storey museum that I lacked time to view.While the Rizal house means far more to Filipinos than foreigners, it's still worth seeing whatever your nationality.
