Amazing wat, but be prepared for the crowds. Also, if you are inclined to motion sickness, prepare yourself for the windy road up the mountain.

This temple is a small temple near royal park Raja Pruk. You need to go by private car or rent the bus or van to get there. It's located away from town. Before it's just a small temple. But become well known to Thai people due to there're people pray for good luck and they won lottery with high prize. So people from other part in Thailand go and pray for lucky. They said you can pray for only 1 thing and once it become true. You need to come back and give the jasmine minimum of fifty garlands to worship Pra Jao Tun Jai.The temple located up to the hill. You will see the temple at the entrance with reclining Buddha inside. Then u will see the giant Buddha in the middle before enter to the main temple. There're souvenirs shops and local products stands in front of temples. It's very crowd of people especially during weekend. The main temple is quite small. But Pra Jao Tun Jai statue is beside the main temple. People lights the scented stick and offer the jasmine outside. At the back there's big balcony which you can walk and see the beautiful scenic view. Now people visit this place with strong belief that their one wish would become true.If you are seeking for place with new experience, I'd recommend you to go.

Today being a Buddhist holiday we decided to visit Pha That Doi Kham which is situated near to Royal Flora, there is a car park so none of the usual problems with parking, today the weather was not too hot in the morning so we could enjoy a nice stroll around the grounds. This is definitely a must visit for all tourists and you can easily visit Royal Flora at the same time

As one of our family group had never been there, we were forced to visit on one of the busiest times of the year. I realized this actually made it a better experience as most Thais start their year with a visit to a temple and given its importance in Chiang Mai, many decided to make the pilgrimage to this temple on New Years day weekend. The fact that it was crowded and with mostly Thais versus tourists actually made it a better experience although the most difficult thing was finding a parking spot. A must do for any first time visitor to Chiang Mai!

after a lovely drive up the mountains we arrived on the base of the temple. to reach the top and visit the temple, you can go up steps for maybe 1/4 mile, or take a lift (elevator) for a small fee to the top. The temple is magnificent, you can spend a long time to see all this glamour.

We got two cars to get there from the old town. It's interesting to see how important it is for the Buddhist. In the way you see the new part of Chiang Mai. We went back the other day and loved it. Great restaurants there.

Half the fun of going to this Wat is the travel there...is only about 30 mins from city but the winding road and views are just wonderful. We had a hired car but next time would try a tuk tuk for the open air views. Amazingly, you will see cyclist trying this climb...I am a cyclist and I would not attempt it:). The Wat is beautiful and the wall paintings took half my camera battery:)...the replica emerald Buddha is beautiful.

We were again lucky to have a personal guided tour and despite the short lasting 'monsoon' it was a fantastic experience well worth a visit, just don't forget your camera!!!!

so amazed by the structures. Limited parking spaces however. Absolutely worth the drive to get up there.

You can quite easily become templed out in Thailand but this is a definite must. The structures are incredible but it is I believe a very special site for Buddhists who make pilgrimages here.

So amazing shouldn't be missed, well worth seeing. Chiang Mai is my favourite place to go in Thialand. Everyone should get to go there at least once.

Busy but nice to get a god view of Chang Mai - takes about an hour to get there and it's 40baht to get in. Normal temple attire!
