I spent several hours there having not been before..it was very moving & I shall visit again to watch some more of their historical movies.

This place as an amazing database about films and pictures of Cambodia, the creator is a famous local film director with I had the chance to meet, must go there it's a great place to have a drink.

I went to Bophana Center on two consecutive days, each day about 3-4 hours. I have mainly watched a variety of video/documentaries (both short and long) on various subjects, such as the Khmer Rouge period of course, the lifestyle and livelihood of youths in Phnom Penh, Khmer and indigenous art. I think what this organisation is doing extremely important works and doing it extremely well, including collecting, analysing, archiving, documenting Cambodia history and current time, as well as making it freely and conveniently accessible for anyone who walks in.

I was talking one time to a Cambodian friend about researching for Khmer movies and music from the 60's and she mentioned in passing the Bophana Center so I decided to pay a visit.What a suprise it was! This place is a treasure trove of Cambodian History! From the different media available and accessible to everyone, I learned more about Cambodia from spending a day here more than anywhere else!A place to be visited especially if you have a full day to spend. It will make you want to go back more to explore its archives. This was a eureka moment for me in Cambodia!

A must for anyone interested in Cambodian film, well organized, easily accesible archives. Very helpful staff. Well worth a visit.

Bophana Center is Rithy Pann's master piece. He was nominated for Oscar in 2014, and viewed by many as the national hero. I shall always remember his words when interviewed him "it is enough for me to do only one thing in life". He was referring that he only do Khmer Rouge documentation. And he did great. The centre has a large collection of videos and audios materials of KR period. Running at an international standard. So glad to visit from time to time.
