Some bargains are to be found here, bought some shades from Oakley, but the adidas and Nike selection was a tad disappointing. But I think this is a general trend for all the outlet stores for Nike and adidas globally. A lot of the fashion labels had good discounts and tax free prices only above a minimum spending (but very limited sizes, usually extra small)Tip: don't forget to get the coupons from the information desk on your way in, these offer additional discounts on already discounted prices at certain stores.

Mitsui Outlet Park mall was included in the tour I booked for Lake Shikotsu Ice FestivalI illumination. There are mostly American brands like Amani, Coach, Michael Kors, Ralph Lauren, Gap, Diesel, Cole Haan, etc; and a number of British and European brands like Burberry and Furla . Honestly, I was a bit disappointed as I would rather buy Japanese brands in Japan. There isn't even a UniGlo store. In terms of eateries, there are just a few restaurants there and again, not many choices.

You may find some good deals in this huge outlet park if you are not looking to get to latest style. Home goods are especially cheap. Some well-known Japanese brands can be found here such as Beams, United Arrows, Monte-bell. However, the discount is not much for newer styles and sometimes regular stores offer more selection at cheaper price during sale season (new year / summer sales). There is an interesting supermarket with fresh local produce from nearby farms. Food selection is ok, with a mix of restaurants and food courts. There is plenty of space to walk around if you are planning to spend a relaxing day at the outlet. However, the location is a bit far away from central Sapporo and requires 40-50 minutes bus ride.

Located inbetween Shin-Chitose airport and Sapporo city, you can reach by airport bus. Lots of brand shops and casual restaurants, shopping centre - good start to enjoy Sapporo.

Found this place as some of the guided tours come here . Took a bus from Tokyu store yen 310 takes 45 min. This placebos awesome and so cheap. Polo shirts were around 4000 yen.Went to coach and they gave me another 30% off the already discounted priceThis place is massive and does not disappoint

Took the 45 minute shuttle bus from outside Tokyu department store (across from Sapporo bus terminal). The two levels of shops all carried in-season clothing- since we visited in October, I was hoping to find last season (Summer) clothing at discount prices, but to the contrary. NO real sales here. Should have spent the afternoon sightseeing or just shopping in Sapporo.

We went to Mitsui Outlet Park (MSP) after our visit to Sapporo Dome. Took a taxi from the dome to MSP and it cost us around Yen3,500. We were expecting a lot more from this outlet but to our dismay it was nothing extraordinary. Just two floors of shop with a little food court and some kids play area. You have all your international brands there like Polo, Burberry, Coach...etc. Price wise, it's average. I wouldn't say its very cheap. For the bigger size ones, don't expect to find anything that fits you here (this is for both apparels and shoes)! To get there is a bit of a hike. They have schedule buses which runs from Fukuzumi subway station to this outlet. It will take around 20mins to get there.I wouldn't go back again simply because of the distance.

This mall has 2 levels of stores. Only some stores are duty free. You could download the mall and check which stores are duty freefrom the official website. Didnot get to buy much from here as the collection is small and not appealing. Timberland and levi is so much cheaper than singapore. Other than that i think the prices cannot match those premium outlets in the states. There is burberry blue label there too. I wanted to get the onizuka tiger shoes but designs are limited but the asic shoes are real cheap. 50% cheaper than singapore. You are likely to spend 2 hours or more there.

The advantage of buying world famous brands in Japan is that they are genuine and not a rip-off copy. For example, a Brooks Brothers necktie bought in Japan is a much more prestigious gift than a Brooks Brothers necktie bought elsewhere in Asia. There are two major places where visitors can do their exclusive brand shopping when visiting Hokkaido; one is Rera near Chitose Airport and the other is the Mitsui Outlet Park, closer to Sapporo. Mitsui Outlet Park has advantages over Rera in that it is out of the weather, has better restaurants such as the kaiten sushi restaurant and is newer. A search on YouTube for 'Mitsui Outlet Park Sapporo' has some good videos which explain the shopping experience.Mitsui Outlet Park is located near the road to Chitose Airport, Route 36 and is also easy to visit on way to the Noboribetsu Hot Springs. It is well signposted for those travelling by car. For those using public transport, there are a number of options. If you are staying in central Sapporo, catch the Tozai Subway line from Odori Station and travel towards Shin Sapporo. Get off at Oyachi Station. The fare is 280 yen and the travelling time is 16 minutes. At Oyachi station, go up the escalators to the Oyachi Bus Terminal. The bus number 88, departs for Mitsui Outlet Park two or three times an hour from 9:20am until 8:37pm. The bus ride takes around 28 minutes and costs 320 yen. A cost effective and convenient way to pay the fares is to buy a 1000 yen ‘with-you-card’ at Odori station. The card can be used on both the train and the bus. There are many famous brands represented at Mitsui Outlet Park. Many of the major stores are duty free. Unlike buying the same goods in the Ginza in Tokyo, there is little walking distance between the stores. There are a number of facilities for shoppers with small children, but if you have small children, be sure to visit the Lego Store where they can play their heart’s content. Mitsui Outlet Park has a food court but the best way to celebrate your shopping bargains is to enjoy some wonderful Hokkaido sushi. The kaiten sushi restaurant is great for those who are not too confident speaking Japanese. You can select your favorite sushi as it moves past on the conveyor belt or you can use the touch pad screen to select your order. It soon arrives on a carriage just for you. Take your plate off the carriage and press the red button to send the carriage back. For certain dishes, there is an on-screen game where you can win prizes. The booth seating has plenty of room for your shopping bags or you can sit at the sushi counter. Payment is made by the number of plates you ordered with different color plates costing different amounts. Mitsui Outlet Park is open for shopping from 10am until 8pm, Monday to Friday and until 10pm on weekends. During our free at leisure day in Sapporo, we went to Mitsui Outlet Park, which was in the outskirts of Sapporo. The only way to get there was through bus, technically, so we had to take an hour-long bus ride to get there.Apart from all the usual outlet stores (although a somewhat smaller selection in here, compared to other outlet malls in Hokkaido), there was also a Farmer's Market selling fresh produce from Hokkaido. There was also a playpen for the young ones and maps provided to guide you around the complex. One good thing about the mall is that it's not confusing or winding - the map acts as quite a useful guide when going through the mall. Apart from the market, the food choice here is quite limited, but we managed to get a good restaurant that serves pizzas and cakes. My main concern lies with the travelling options. It takes an hour or more to get here from the city, so if you're first-time visitors and want to see Sapporo, this isn't really the place for you. All in all, it is a good shopping mall, but we may not return here again due to distance.
