This place has the best coffee in town, and their breakfast food is quite good (though all on the carby side). My only frustration was the service. Some days it was neither good nor bad, other days you wondered how you could have offended the server before even walking in.

This is a quirky little cafe, make sure that you try the amazing brownie. During our stay we sampled a number tasty bagel combinations. Their smoothies are also really delicious.

This place is great, the coffee is awesome and the atmosphere is super laid back. They have seating for small and large groups; very versatile.

I stayed in San Juan del Sur for 3 days in early June and had breakfast in El Gato Negro every morning. Their coffee is excellent . The owners and staff are friendly and helpful. El Gato Negro is a great place in San Juan.!
