The Union Church of Guatemala is a well-laid-out, interdenominational Christian Church. The Blaine Chapel therein is particularly attractive. Sunday worship is at 11 AM, but it's possible to tour the building at other times. Ring the doorbell to gain free admission.

The church in main square is the Cathedral: catholic, Spanish speaking. Beautiful architecture... beware of thefts and robbery... wouldn't walk around zone 1 with a fancy cameraUnion Church is a Christian church near Plazuela Espana in zone 9. Do not get them mixed up!

I walked in the Church and I seen all the different designs. The church is not like the one in the United States.

When we were adopting our children from Guatemala in the early 90's, this church was a refuge for us. We had to stay in country for a total of 8 weeks over two different adoptions, spread across 2 consecutive years, and finding this oasis of familarity in the middle of our mostly-wonderful adventures was a true gift of grace. The church's stained glass window was exactly like ours at home. It was at this church that we first heard "Lord I Lift Your Name on High", and it was to this church that we went on Palm Sunday to celebrate the news when we were finally granted permission to come home. Soon, we will be taking our children back to introduce them to their birth country as young adults. One of our first stops will be attending worship at the Union Church of Guatemala City.
